DfE adds to Resource Management support for school and academy leaders

Schools are increasingly having to think about reduced funding and the impact this has on how resources are utilised.

The Department for Education has again expanded and updated online support for schools and academy trusts on resource management. The resources include; financial planning checks for governors, benchmarking, training materials and case studies demonstrating good practice and impact.

Reception Baseline Assessment delayed until 2021.

Following its 2017 consultation, the Department for Education (DfE) announced plans to introduce statutory Reception Baseline Assessment (RBA) in the Autumn of 2020. The Standards and Testing Agency, part of the DfE, wrote to headteachers on June 25th and at the same time published a notice on its area of the DfE website announcing the postponement of the requirement until the autumn of 2021.
