Ofsted consultation on changes from January 2018

Ofsted published the outcomes of their summer 2017 consultation on proposed changes to short inspections with plans that will be implemented only for the period up until the end of December 2017.

A new consultation has now been launched which is open until Wednesday 8th November. This consultation develops the themes from feedback to the initial consultation and proposes some significant changes that will impact on most schools and academies.

On 5th December 2017 Ofsted published the outcomes of a consultation conducted between 21st September and 8th November, seeking views on further changes to the way in which short (Section 8) inspections are conducted and sometimes converted into full inspections. The outcomes of this consultation, together with Ofsted’s plans for how inspections will be conducted, from January 2018, have now been published.
