On 14th December 2017, Justine Greening launched the Department for Education’s (DfE) single departmental plan titled ‘Unlocking Talent, Fulfilling Potential.’ The plan sets out the government’s objectives for education and how they intend to meet them.

The document is relevant to governors from all phases of education, from early years through to post-16 and beyond.

Revised Keeping Children Safe in Education – May 2018

On 17th May the Department for Education, re-published Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). The 18 May version is ‘for information only’ as the revised statutory guidance does not take effect until 3rd September. As with the early publication of the 2016 KCSIE, early publication allows schools and colleges to be aware of the changes, which are highlighted in this article, prior to their implementation, in the autumn term. KCSIE applies to all schools, maintained, non-maintained special schools, academies, free schools, nurseries and Pupil Referral Units.
