Consultant: Steve BarkerDate posted: May 2018

On 17th May the Department for Education, re-published Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). The May version is ‘for information only’ as the revised statutory guidance does not take effect until 3rd September 2018. As with the early publication of the 2016 KCSIE, early publication allows schools and colleges to be aware of the changes, which are highlighted in this article, prior to their implementation, in the autumn term.

KCSIE applies to all schools, maintained, non-maintained special schools, academies, free schools, nurseries and Pupil Referral Units.
