This Hot Topics webinar is an opportunity for governors and trustees to learn about what's new and happening in education of specific relevance to governance in schools and academy trusts.

 

In this session we will provide a brief update on new regulations, policy and practice that will influence meetings of your governing body/trust this term. 

 

The webinar will be facilitated by our governance experts Steve Barker and Linda Waghorn and will be a mix of input, opinion polls conducted in real time and the opportunity to ask your questions. We are planning to include updates on; the Ofsted framework, Keeping Children Safe in Education, Data Protection and Teachers' Pay. This list may change and be added to, in order to reflect other news and updates near 2nd October.

Pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds worst affected by the loss of learning

The Department of Education (DfE) has published research findings examining the extent of learning amongst all students in England, during the Autumn and Spring terms of the current academic year. The research was conducted by The Education Policy Institute (EPI) and Renaissance Learning, for the DfE and follows interim findings from earlier research, published in February this year.
