The Department for Education (DfE) has issued a new and updated version of The Governance Handbook to replace the previous edition published in January 2017.

The new version continues to reflect the key competency areas within the DfE Competency Framework (2017).  This Handbook reflects; legislation, policy and procedural changes, introduced since January 2017 that impact on governance.

The Department for Education, through the Education and Skills Funding Agency, has introduced new statutory requirements for academy trusts over related party transactions.
